Well, whaddaya know…?

Last week we had a gay rights workshop, focusing on 4 countries, Uganda, Lithuania, Jamaica and Serbia.

Much discussion was raised around the proposed Ugandan leglislation, which seeks to further criminalise homosexuality by imposing the death penalty, the legislation would also criminalise anyone who failed to report a homosexual person to the authorities!

And what should I recieve in my inbox today but an email from the organisation Avaaz (which means “Voice”). They campaign on social justice and human rights issues around the world. They have set up a petition against the proposed Ugandan legislation.
