Good news from Burma? Not a tag line that seemed likely.
Yet there’s been a marvellous wave of political prisoners being released in Burma, including protesters from back in 1988.
Burma has a long way to go before it can be called free: but the announcements in the last two days show that none of us should give up hope.

Good to see some positive developments for Burma – although they’ve still got a long way to go. It would have helped that Foreign Secretary William Hague recently visited, and met the Burmese opposition leader. – Allow me to reccommend a film: ‘The Lady’ (NOT ‘The Iron Lady’!), about recent history of Burma. Not a joyous film to see, but educational, and, very much, about human rights.
